That's the fun of Japanese. There are few out-and-out "dirty" words, though kusso is one of them, it can be translated very broadly

The spoken language isn't that hard to learn, although you need to learn the intricacies of the kind of language to use when speaking to someone like your boss versus speaking with friends. The written language, however, can be a huge pain.
