Let me clarify that a little more. Looking back at the RPGs I have played, there aren't that many stories that stand out that make me go "wow." Xenogears is one of those stories, although it was convoluted and could be quite confusing to some on their first time through the game. Most RPGs have stories that are cliched, although it depends on how the story is told.
