Its 93 based on 61 reviews. I believe another 80 was added.
Metacritic comparison:
UC2 had 38 perfect scores.
UC3 has 18 perfect scores.
UC2 had 2 reviews under 90.
UC3 has 5 reviews under 90.
UC2 had no mixes and no negative.
UC3 has one mixed which is total bogus and no negative.

When you think about it, it isn't really bad. It's just that: When somebody asks you what game won GOTY, practically everyone (if not taking a lot of sites into account) will say this or that for this or that year. But when speaking 2009, Uncharted 2 took more awards than I have ever seen a game take and it scored as the highest PS3 exclusive ever. Uncharted 3 at the moment is just behind LittleBigPlanet which scored 95 and got GOTY in 2008. Its also behind Metal Gear Solid 4 which is considerd as one of the best games of all time by many including myself (runner up GOTY in 2008 along with Fallout 3).
Uncharted 3 is a huge success and Metacritic prooves that, despite that AV club review. Don't just focus on the negative guys. |
technically, its already below 93. Standard average is at 92.85, but meta still has it at 93. looks like my previous theory of them rounding down is wrong. I'm guessing that meta's weighted average is at around 92.8+ also and is rounded up to 93.
publicatons that mean anything that are yet to review U3 are gameshark and gamespy as they probably have larger weights as compared to others using meta's list of which sites are the most popular since these two are in the top 15 most popular sites.

Put the point aside. The game has been praised beyond a bare critical acclaim. Thats what I was refering to with my post. Naughty Dog should be happy as hell.
