ps. haha its funny because they are saving people, and we all know they do that 1% of the time, and they use gun for it.

Well the US Air Force does conduct medivac's in combat situations however I don't think the US Air Force actually leads the rescue efforts they do transport patients to hospitals and such from air bases but I don't think they often actually do operations where they just drop into combat zones and pick up wounded while military operations are on going.

I would say a huge amount of the US Militaries operations are saving people. Especially the National Guard and Navy they are always rescuing people. A natural disaster strikes and the first large response is always military.

Here in Canada our military is even more involved in rescue operations then the US. We actually send military forces to almost every disaster zone on earth. Our D.A.R.T and PRT teams go all over the world helping out in every country they can in virtually every major disaster. In fact they even sent troops, ships and aircraft to the US after Katrina though the US Government was so full of themselves they didn't accept help for over a month.

In fact if it wasn't for our armed forces we'd be pretty screwed in a natural disaster. When an air plane goes down in the bush or North who responds first? Military, if your ship is going down the Navy and Coast Guard respond quickly to save you. If your city gets trashed by a storm the military is always there to help rescue people and restore the city to its former glory.

In fact last year after my city got hit by a huge snow storm I was surprised to see Canadian troops in bobcats clearing parking lots and small streets. Saw them helping clear roads of fallen trees and such. I was unaware that the army would actually be called out for a small blizzard but there they were.
