I read Eurogamer's review and I thought all the negatives that were discussed are justified (from my experience with UC2).
So while I thought they were a little too harsh, I respect the review.

There must always be a statistical spread around the expected value. Of all the reviews, EG's one may well be the lowest when all is said and done. As the 'lowest scoring review' then I would have to say it is faaaar more reasonable than the usual suspects.
