When it was right up to the corner 1 car would consistently hit my car but if moved my car back about 15 feet I didn't have any problems.

Well no shit sherlock, if your car isn't visible coming around the corner and there isn't time to react it's going to get smacked. Try that in real life next time please and let me know what happens.
I'd be afraid of an AI that doesn't hit your car if it's parked and hidden on a fucking race track, cause parked cars on a racetrack are common, right?
