It's there, and it's noticeable to me. But I pick out technical shortcomings in console games like a hobby. Heck, even when I've maxed out some PC games (max settings, 1080p, 60fps, oodles of AA and AF) I still find visual shortcomings of the engine or textures and get upset. For the tearing I notice it most when I'm driving cockpit or front of the car view and when turning. It happens about 15-20% from the top of the screen. Alas, this isn't about GT5 and I don't mean to pick on it. I'm enjoying the gameplay a few hours a day

naw... youre fine... those are legitimate complaints about it.
but when i do notice the screen tear, it seems thats its usually near the top (and playing it again just now, i was looking for screen tear, and i did see it, but like i said it was near the top).
on a side note, i wonder if the improved performance at all, it seems difficult (for me) to notice the drops in framerate.
OT: both games look amazing to me, i have yet to see Forza 4 in person, so i will have to wait for my final verdict. but so far both games seem to look great with their own pros and cons
