If I am MS, and I am selling the amount of consoles that they are, I would not even think twice about keeping the price as it is. And by doing this MS would continue to makes huge money per console, alowing a huge price cut to appear just before Wii U arrives, killing the big momentum new hardware normaly has, plus selling millions at that point, extending the life of the console, wich I think is important for both MS and Sony |
If it is killing any momentum for the WII-U they have in mind I would think it would be better for them to hold onto a massive price cut untill late 2012 and strike in the run-up to Christmas with a $100 cut and some serious bundling such as Halo Reach/CEA, Gears 3, Forza 4 and Fable 3 (Dance Central 2 for Kinect bundle).

At this point in time I find Microsofts actions to be very curious especially considering their continued reminders of them aiming to be number 1 world wide this year (their current fiscal year I imagine, rather than Calendar year)... they have a few things comming up that could be run away successes, such as their TV packages but nothing that I can see that would propell them to the numbers they need outside North America/UK.
