An atheist doesn't believe it's possible to prove or disprove God. Only an idiot does, as it's impossible to 100% prove or disprove the existance of God.

The easiest definition is: atheist believes there is no God, agnostic has no belief either way; he just doesn't know what to believe (ie doubt).

Easiest maybe, but not the correct definition.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

agnostic

Pronunciation:/agˈnɒstɪk/

noun

a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's really completely seperate from the belief in god. It's certainly not just being unsure of the existence of god - agnosticism can be quite a strongly held position.

I agree my definition is not 100% correct, but most people calling themselves an agnost just don't know if they believe in God or not. Whereas Atheists don't say that it's possible to disprove the existance of God, they just say God does not exist.
