Had PS3 launched in 2005, it's first 2 years of sales would have been lower (since the market wasn't yet ready to move to the 7th gen, and PS2 was still kicking), so 360 may have lead those two years, especially with the price tag PS3 would have been at, and lack of exclusive software. see thats why the argument can't be made. in a time when something doesn't happen it couldn't happen cause there was no way for it to happen. the only way to make any of it possible is to push everything back by one yr. in therory everything would b pushed back so this yr would likely be 2010 if i had to speculate. also somethings may have been changed along the way. not just in gaming, but every aspect of life: which makes this aligned launch therory hard to make for me anyway.

i  made the arguement back then which i'm sure many pro sony people did, and many 360 owners i new at that time did aswell. it was just excepted and we moved on. besides; science/technology prevents us from making that arguement.

Also if you align launches, 360 does have some stronger years. PS3 is falling earlier then 360 with an alligned launch, this is why annual market trends play an important role. review previous statements above this one.

However it's pointless to argue, so i agree, lets stop. yea it really isn't possible to make the case.

Sorry for being AFK, I'm studying for a hard course. I'll be a lot free next week and afterwards. I agree about these threads dividing PS3/360 owners, it's . seems as less and less people care about these topic's which is a bonus. now only if we can get people to not enter these kindss of threads then we'll be one step closer to not having people make them.

If we were to allign PS3 and 360 launches, I agree that we can't make speculations and arguements about it. (I disagree that you can push annual sales back by a year every year because the market is different each year). you can't. it doesn't make any sense? its a false representation of a past or present that doesn't exsist!

Even if these types of threads die out, they will pick up in the 8th gen for those consoles. but if nobody post in them then they won't exsist.
