i'm with Rol on this one.
its like this. Mario has that appeal that will draw kids in . everything Nintendo is perfectly centered to tailer to kids so this is how they grow up. every character has that happy i'm a kid come play with me look. that hey i'm a hero and anything is possible attitude so it works for them and seemingly noone else. Nintendo the land of makeblieve.
the problem is that games like COD have that awe and excitment and did you just see how that helicopter just blew up in front of me in suround sound on my moms HD 3d TV? man that was epic!
and after seeing that. thats wht they want. no more kidy looking games. i want epic, blow em up shoot'm in the head with blood everywhere cuase thats awesume, thats a movie, and its right in my hands to control!
i make the dicions cuase i have the controler and i'm the main character and i matter. and then they get online get there asses kicked and go back crying i want a hero and thats how they end up back with Nintendo until they really grow up, and then there ready to kill!
