343 Industries is ready to put the major development efforts for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary to bed with the Saturday announcement that the HD remake for the Xbox 360 has gone gold.

"Halo Anniversary has gone gold! Wort Wort!" the HaloWaypoint Twitter account declared.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary uses the same game engine used for the original Halo that launched alongside the Xbox but with a new HD graphics engine that can switch on the fly to the original. The multiplayer portion of the game uses the Halo: Reach engine but gives players the option of using the original rules or the new Reach rules.

The game will hit retail stores for the Xbox 360 on November 15. Ten years to the day from the launch of the first.
