Actually no you are dead wrong, the industry would have risen without Nintendo though at a slower pace. The Sega Master system was popular in EU and South America (other regions I cannot speak for as I wasn't that well informed). In the US the Master System wasn't super popular but it had a decent marketshare. Also plenty of Commodore 64's were circulating around mainly for gaming needs. As for your second point be a man and say it "Nintendo currently has the WORST online gaming of the 3 (4 if you include the PC)". For your next point I buy all my systems since the PS1, and I sure as hell was not wasting my money on a glorified Gamecube with motion controls (Wii) with lesser quality games (RE4, NMH, Muramasa, being the exceptions in these 5 years). I do not hate Nintendo, but I dislike highly the direction they went in this gen, and YES I owned an original NES (still have it) with many games including the double dragon series, all SMB's, metal gear, river city ransom, etc. I call it how I see it when I see a company go the shit route and choosing the blue ocean over its core audience which kept it alive during the rough times (yes gamecube was very profitable despite low marketshare). P.S. Me crying for a Wii for Christmas?!?! ROFL, ok there buddy, you can keep your cooking momma, I'll be busy with Dark Souls and Uncharted 3 in coming weeks, as well as Arkham City (close minded Wii only owners like you cry for this game but won't admit it). |
1) First of all Nintendo is in this business for money, and for that reason they need to do whatever they have to do lead the market. I prefer to have the 150 millions of DS onwers and 86 millions of Wii onwers tham those 30 million people that you call the core audience. Nintendo will always be the ¨family console¨ in the eyes of the so called ¨hardcore gamers¨, they will never take that market away from Microsoft or Sony, so the blue ocean strategy is the one that they need to follow to be succesful.
2) Where did he said that he plays cooking momma? and if he wants to play that kind of games, is that a sin? Playing uncharted and dark souls makes you or me superior than him? it makes you or me a better person than him? you earned more money at your job for that? If a person wants to go to a park and throw a ball against a wall and that makes that person happy that is not your problem or my problem. Games are a matter of tastes, and if someone has diferent tastes that you or I have, thats not a reason to look down at them.
