MS Planning Public Beta For New Dashboard

A notice for applications to the public dashboard preview seemingly went live prematurely this morning. It was swiftly retracted but not before it raised the eyebrows of keen would-be testers. 

The official MS page regarding the tests now reads "We're sorry, but at this time we are not currently accepting registrations for the public preview program stay tuned for future updates when the registration process begins." 

A Microsoft rep told Joystiq: "Unfortunately we don't have any details to share at this time." It seems likely someone hit the 'Go' button too early. Look out for more on this soon.

The new update will introduce a redesigned dashboard, Bing search functionality and new content from media partners including the BBC and Lovefilm, the platform holder has confirmed.
