Here is my whole problem with this thread, why does Sony needs to be "saved" in Japan? I mean honestly is it because they are not controlling 70% of the market share in Japan anymore? I mean yes, Sony learned a lesson, if you get wild with your ambitions and you forget about what bought you to the dance in the first place, then you will lose market shares. Sony may gain blu-ray disk format shares I guess and a download service share in Japan but was it worth losing game console share? That is yet to be determined by their board of directors, and we will never truly know. But the bottom line is developers are still going to make games for PS3. Not at the rate as Nintendo is getting them (which is not always a good thing if really look at the percentage of good games vs shovelware) but Sony is going to get its share of games, that will have some of the best graphics to date. Egos like Kojima and Itagaki are always going to make this big epic games on the most advanced systems and that is not the Wii because of it's limited power. Doesn't mean producers like Suda 51 or Miyamoto won't push the power of the Wii to its fullest. It just means you have more choices and options what you want to play now, allowing the casual and core to play games, making it a more acceptable form of entertainment. Bottomline, Sony will get to 35% to 40% of the current console gen market in Japan and they now know its going take a while. Sony is not going anywhere, so relax and let games come out as they may....
I am just saying.....
