Like the OP, I also have a D7000.

That puppy of yours surely was cute! The perfect accomplice to take for a walk to a park to meet nice girls!

How long have you had your camera? I'm just learning how to make proper use out of mine, trying really hard on Manual to get to understand the complexity of it all. It's taking longer than I expected, but I'm confident that it will eventually turn out good.

I've had mine for 4 months.  Are you trying to figure out how to specifically use the D7000 on manual or are you tring to figure out how to relate iso, shutter speed, and aperture?

I just ordered a hefty lens.  The nikkor 17-55 2.8.  I do alot of cosplay photography, which is indoors - so this lens will be useful for me even though it's alot of money.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
