Yes it does. It offers a unified way to find content. It offers hands free control of playback and selection of content. With the way you can search with Bing and Kinect this is the start of something totatlly cool. Already today playback on Netflix, Hulu, and Zune is awesome. The flaws today are that to find content you need to use a controller or remote. You need to search through the different providers separately. Now I want to watch "Big Bang Theory" I can say Bing: Big Bang Theory and results will include Netflix (Previous seasons), Hulu (Past episodes this season) , and Verizon or Comcast for upcoming episodes (if CBS is available). I never once thought that all of a sudden for no additional cost that all these providers and providers to come would allow you access to their content by being a Xbox Gold subscriber. . |
Sounds useful for Kinect user, but I don't own Kinect. Also I could care less to be able to search like that since there is no way I could afford to subscribe to each of those services. Just to watch Big Bang Theory your example I need a NetFlix subscription, Hulu one and Verizon or Comcast. Since I only had NetFlix up until recently and can't afford to subscribe to all these different services the search capabilities are reduntant.
