Dont you lecture me on hypotheticals. I played all the Halo games and read and reread all the novels/graphic novels.

None of us know whats gonna happen in this game. But seeing as the game takes place entirely on a Forunner shield world and seeing as the Covenant wont be the enemy, well sir anything is possible. 

Could be a radical faction of Forunners that still view humanity as an enemy, given the Forunner/Humanity war that was described in Halo Cryptum. Again, its anyones guess. 

I was fairly certain they confirmed that the Elites or some other species of Covenant would be present in this game, but I may be thinking of something else entirely so don't take my word for it. I am also too lazy to try and look for the source again to be honest.

What I will do, though, is look up this Halo Cryptum telling of the Forerunner/Human war. I have followed quite a bit of the Halo Universe and books, but I tend to stick with just the main storyline/Spartan books, not the more branching tales or prequels. Halo Cryptum it is!
