maybe MS was referring to US since this yr will mark them being #1 for the first time in that region, last yr the Wii was able to get it

It was during E3 this year, a direct quote. And im sure they are no stranger to the knowledge on non-UK Europe and Japan favouring the PS3. To be up YOY and to compete against PS3's price cut, a price drop is necessary.

The only snag in the theory is the MW bundle. Perhaps they will wait until 2 weeks after its released and then drop it upon us or like you said, drop the price of the bundle even before it hits........or keep it the same and drop the price of the standard 360s only.

Its been since 2008 that MS truly dropped any prices on the hardware, just value addons over the years since. Im astounded that they are waiting this long.
