^^Left 4 dead got a survival mode after gears of war, but the actual game is just like a survival mode. Its a 4 player co-op game, where you kill zombies to reach the end of the level. There are unlimited no of zombies. It doesn't have a story and it can be played online.
When you reach the next level you get points for killing the zombies.
The only difference between horde mode and gears of war seems to be that gears of war takes place on a single map whereas left 4 dead takes place on 5 huge maps. However survival mode takes place on only 1 small map.
That's the only difference between normal l4d and survival l4d.
