In Piranha's defense, there were a few legal issues with the announcement trailer. They used copyrighted material (The Warbringer Mech) without permission. They were sued for this and had to deal with the legal matters before continuing with the project. I personally assumed that the legal problems were going to end this project given the storyline timeframe for the reboot, they kinda need this material along with others as well.
Personally I am glad this has come out of the shadows and new info is around the corner. I am a huge MechWarrior fan. I just hope that this gets released next year sometime and thats what the announcement is.
