Right. The origins of GTA are PC, but it rapidly moved to consoles, and really only became super popular on consoles, unlike FPS, for example, which were huge before Halo ever hit. 

As a side note, practically every major gaming "innovation" or genre invented by Westerners occured on the PC. Sandbox games, Western style RPGs (Bioware and Bethesda were both PC developers first, for example), First Person Shooters, Real Time Strategy, MMOs.

Just something I like to point out as much as possible as a PC fanboy.
