Is the PS3 a failure in America?(Compared to the PS2 &PS1)

Everyone is quick to point out the the Japanese are "zenophobic" and hates the american xbox but turns a deliberate blind eye to the fact that an American console dominates America for the same reason.
I am not forgeting that it is games that make Japanese buy japanese and xbox is catered for americans but if you think that is the full story you are naive.

The next gen will be Xbox all over the others in NA.... if they American consumer have any money to buy it then.

except Playstation will take over next gen they already have europe and japan now they will reclaim us and be the king again :D

Oh I totally agree that PS will very likely globally dominate sales next gen. It's not only Europe and Japan but the rapidly emerging markets like Russia, Turkey etc where I read they are putting in the groundwork.

But this thread is about NA and there I honestly think PS will be a distant second or third. That could be a good or bad thing depending on what the future holds.
