Yeah consoles only. 1080p60 x 2 for 3D is 9x the pixels of 720p30 which consoles are struggling with now. Does using mutiple displays work with 3D glasses? Do the 3D graphics line up? It will be a while before 5760x1080 panoramic 3D VR glasses. Can't wait to try a set of those though :) There already are 1080p VR headsets available with see trough video and headtracking options, for example http://www.sensics.com/products/xSight/xsight-overview.php?gclid=CPLRodL5s6sCFYYUKgodtCy9eA but it will cost you $39,000 |
3D Surround how its called does work great...if you have the hardware needed. Preffered is tri GTX 570 SLI or dual 580s with another dedicated GPU for Physics.
I have tried monitors but at 23 inches they don't do it for me. Too small and can't be enjoyed fromt he couch.
I need this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wMBS_bfkFk&feature=player_detailpage#t=340s
On a slightly curved screen, with true 1080p 3D projectors (don't exist yet) this will be king.
I am basically waiting to buy a house with enough room for this, while I research how to build a curved screen myself and wait for Acer, Optoma or whoever to get off their ass and give us a non HDMI 1.4 true 1080p 3D@60 per eye projector. Hopefully these things will all allign around same date... :)
As far as that headset, for some reason they don't interest me. You can't invite friends over and brag about your HMD VR headset, even if you spend 39,000 dollars on it :)
