Its funny that people actually automatically may think its time to upgrade if a new Iphone is out. Not really funny.

I received Iphone 4 from work about 4 months ago as my work phone and I really don't see why anyone would want this device so badly over a Window Phone or Android. Sure the hardware is maybe a bit slicker...but so is the price tag. The OS and user experience however isn't any better or worse than competition. Just different...

In fact there are multiple basic things which I find Iphone lacks compared to windows phone 7 that I wouldn't want to trade for a slicker screen or better camera.

Things like:

Spell check in search and maps, iphone doesn't have it, WP7 does.
Spell check and voice recognition in general sucks on the iphone. Spell check is awesome. I don't use voice recognition at all, so I can't judege.
App store needs password every time you log in, WP7 doesn't. App store doesn't ask for the password each time you log in..
Lock screen on iphone is poorly utilized and vague.
Sure Iphone has lots of apps but their integration with other apps is non existent. wat. I am never bothered by that. The real point is the app store is THE best.
Can't sync phone numbers from Sim card. oh please, SIM card syncing is ANNOYING and I never used it. Always had to copy them to pc by using nokia pc suit and then copy them to my new device. I don't miss it all now and I didn't know that the iphone lacks that "feature" actually.
Some people may find issues like this with Windows phones or Androids.

The bottom line is, all 3 devices are fairly similar with slight minor differences, if you want the basic smartphone experience. Why would anyone rush to "upgrade" to iphone 5? This question is weird actually. A lot of People always upgrade their PCs, TVs, Cameras, Consoles etc to ge the best experience possible. You of all people shouldn't be wondering since you always tell us stories about your monsterous gaming  PC set.
