While I understand their reasoning, I still think that's a big mistake. For a company that's trying to prove it has something to offer the core gamer with 3DS and WiiU this shows a total lack of understanding of what that audience wants. Nintendo has to realize if it wants the core, it's going to have to massively expand and shell out millions to get it. Frankly, I don't think that's a winning strategy. Nintendo's done great with the expanded market and I think they should remained focused there but then drop the pretense of serving the core gamer.
