Most reviewers point out that the story of Gears 3 is poorly presented and the dialogue is meh. Uncharted story is meh too but how it is presented and dialogue make it something better than what is seen in Gears 3.
I think Uncharted is more polished in terms of story, not that it has a better story 
.
That's my opinion without played Gears 3 (I can change it after play the game).
