My COD friends seem to think COD is the most realistic game out there. They seem to have the belief that they're hardcore because the game takes place in a modern setting. Like I always say, COD is the hardcore game for casuals & the casual game for the hardcore. There's nothing wrong with that though. Acti has done a great job at making the series mainstream while at the same time making the fans seem like they're part of some elite group. I will say this though. COD is the most content packed modern shooter out there. With a fast-paced exciting campaign, a rarely-seen local multiplayer, packed with a competent online system, with smooth, appealing gameplay (something most games lack). Add that with the common belief that it's hardcore and you gotcha yourself a sure success. Things like killstreaks, perks, attachments, etc all help cement that hardcore belief. That's just my opinion |
