I wonder if this community appreciates the fact that there is already one cure for AIDS. At least one person has been cured of the disease. So I hope nobody says that a cure is coming, because that has already come and gone already. This is good news however, because the current treatment is quite simply more dangerous then the disease. Simply irradiating and killing a immune system to replace it with a transplanted naturally immune system is hardly anywhere near practical outside of patients who suffer from a more deadly condition. That said that work paves the way for less aggressive treatments. Modified host cells, and so forth.
Anyway cool news indeed.
