I think it's a brilliant idea, since the idea of portability comes to mind. While some games I will get for the PS3 (to experience it on a large HDTV, for example), there are some games that I would love to have a portable version of (like FFX HD). Some people may not have a lot of time to play games at home, so that's another problem solved (yes, I know of the option of playing the PS3 games on your Vita, but there might be issues with that).
Also, it's not like every single Vita game will have two versions of it.
