Car insurance companies want to get more control of us!

Wow so its soon time to get the lube ready and bend over.

When will this bull shit end? Insurance needs to be optional, its fucking bullshit that the government forces us to have it. This is why we need a guy like Ron Paul who would probably get rid of mandatory car insurance (just an assumption based on his platform/beliefs).

Car insurance is such a fucking scam. You pay a fuck-ton of money for insurance each year but then if you ever actually need to use your insurance to pay for damages then you're premiums skyrocket. My current rates are $3500/year (19 year old male) and a couple months ago I got in an accident and put $4500 worth of damage on my car. I could have had insurance cover it and save myself $4500...but then my rates would have jumped to $6000/year on a $12,000 car (I called them and asked what would happen if I was to hypothetically get in an accident). This increased rate would last 5 years before it could go down again. So I'd save $4500 but over 5 years I'd lose $10,000 in the difference (a net loss of $5,500). What kind of shit is that?

So I've paid probably close to $15,000 in my life in insurance (2 years as sole owner of my car, almost 2 years under my parents insurance) which is basically down the drain, and when I finally need the insurance I find out they'll cover the damage, but double my rates. What a fucking scam. And you can't not have insurance or else you get a ticket and probably get your license taken away.

When is the government going to let us actually control our own lives and decide if we want insurance or not? I think they just know that if they ended the allowed us to not have insurance that every single insurance company in Canada would go out of business because nobody will pay that bullshit.
