Haha, I remember when they announced The Old Republic's travel system.  "It's going to be awesome--you can use your ship to travel and everything."  Then they put it on rails, too. 

I can deal with BF3's on-rails action because it's SP.  (And let's be honest here, half the people in BF3 are going to skip the SP mode.)  If they were doing this in multiplayer, it'd be way worse.  Actually, they were kinda doing that by reducing the map sizes in BFBC2.
