You have the choice as a human to turn away, ignore the horrible truth, or face it and prepare for some difficulty. Clearly most people, in this case and in life in general, choose the easy road.

Slavery was the norm a few hundred years ago. Now the average person is disgusted by that history, BUT THE FACT IS if you put them in those times they most probably would have ignored it and just tried to 'enjoy' their life - just like they do now.

Not a bad argument. But then you have to concede that you also don't give a shit about the millions of people that die from war/aids/rape/famine etc. etc. except if they are somehow associated to you.

Because lets face it, everyone loves their own dog but doesn't even look when there's a dead one in the street.

Though I much prefer this honest appoach to the ''I'll adopt it when it suits me'' bs that the majority of people spit out.
