Xxain said: I havent played Enslaved either, thats from Demo and watching a friend. That mechanic is used in tons on modern games specifically Western made games. I dont understand it, if your not gonna allows us to "REALLY" platform then why put it there? (1)So you cover up the fact that your is a hallway simulator by making it appear were doing something then running forward? (2)Why are all 1st shooters set in the same War setting? what happened to shooters like turok 2? (3)Why are we paying 60 bucks for less than 10 games? (4)why are games not being shipped as full packages, not DLC added a week later? what happened to earning that DLC shit in game? (5)Why are we waiting 3 plus years for games? (6)Why are developmers hindering consumers with DRM? (7)Why is multiplayer used as a xxtender and not real feature? and you say the modern age is better? Only if your blind sheep. Ill take trail and error games anyday. |
Wow, there is so much fail with generalization in this post that I'm not sure where to start with this...
1) And old games weren't "hallway simulators"? If I remember correctly, almost all games before the N64 era were scripted and essentially played in a straight line. I'm assuming you haven't played games like Borderlands, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, etc etc.
2) I didn't realize Halo, Killzone, Resistance, CoD MW2, Borderlands, Bioshock and Left 4 Dead were set in the same "war setting". I guess it's very easy for one to generalize and pick-on what's popular, right?
3) I don't know where you're buying your games from but I'd buy 10 games for 60 bucks ANY DAY. Seriously, let me know where you buy them. Oh and by the way, games were more expensive before the N64 era than they are now.
4) Because gaming has become more than a "pass-time" activity. It's a full-blown industry now and just like every other business, their main goal is to make money. People are willing to pay for DLC, so developers will include them. I honestly doubt that you would turn away from DLC if you were a CEO of a company and were given the opportunity to make millions on the DLC. It's part of the business and if you don't want it, don't buy it! If you feel like you're getting ripped off, then don't support the company and move on.
5) ...Because games aren't 2-bit sprite-based simulators played on consoles with one joystic and two face buttons anymore. Games have evolved, development times have evolved. It's a natural process for creating something more complex.
6) I somewhat agree with this. However, I think developers are realizing that consumers don't like this (on consoles at least).
7) What are you talking about? Multiplayer is a real feature. In fact, it is THE most important feature. I agree that some games don't need it (Bioshock, Resident Evil and Assassin's Creed), otherwise multiplayer is important to modern gaming.
