This sounds like something that will be used in a future super soldier program. I have no doubt that as soon as genetic engineering of human's is legal the US and other countries will invest millions in genetically modifying children and raising them up to be super soldiers. I could see this bullet proof skin being used in the field in about 50 years, after adequate testing and legalization of human gene slamming.
I could definatly see a US soldier in 2075 having bullet proof skin, 75% better hearing , enhanced sight and boosted matabolism and muslce build. These guys will be tanks and then give them body armour on top of that and some kick ass weapons and no normal soldier will stand a chance in a fire fight!
