Those studies are irrelvant. You stated that Latina women tend to get on the heavy side AFTER pregrancy. That itself is subject to questioning because none of those studies you provided reflect that view. They only detail the statistics of obesity among minorites compared to non-Hispanic whites.

Okay, those studies didn't back my weight gain after pregnancy claim (just showed higher obesity rates).  I believe the most contributing factor to obesity in USA is income.  When you don't make that much income then I can see why people choose the unhealthy options such as fast food over healthier more expensive options (buying fruit, veggies, non-processed foods in a grocery store).  Most people with little income would rather go get 2 McDoubles for $2 than spend the money on more healthy/expensive options.  It is the way the food system is setup in the USA that promotes unhealthy options for cheap while the healthier options are more expensive.  Thus why most Americans (regardless of race) are more overweight when compared to other countries.

Anyways, I'll admit that what I first said was a cheap shot about weight gain after pregnancy.  I have only worked in manufacturing mainly the past few years  (I am actually a minority at these jobs since most people working manufacturing jobs in Austin, Texas are Hispanic, Asian, and black) so I've seen a decent amount of overweight people at my jobs (so happens that they are mainly minority because they make up most of the work force at the job).  I'll leave this thread for good and let you guys enjoy the Latina woman.
