I think franchises don't have to be platformers. Case in point: the Brain Age series.
I welcome this shift in "gaming" - not only can you have fun (provided you break down conventional thinking that dictates a game must be an action, rpg or sim title to be "fun"), you can also learn while you're at it; only good things can come out of that!
