@those saying Sony shouldn't get rid of KB completely

That's not what I'm saying. I know KB is great for Sony. I'm fine with Sony using him to advertise the PS3, MOVE, and light-hearted games. My only gripe with him is how he's used in nearly every game. Games like God of War, Killzone, Resistance are supposed to dark & gritty experience and should have ads that reflect that.

No.... they shouldn't you obviously dont know about marketing. Your sitting on your couch watching TV and a McDonalds commercial comes on, showing a Huge juicy well made Big Mac. Your like WOW that looked great! you get off your ass run to McDonalds order a Big Mac combo get home open the Big Mac box thing a realize the Big Mac is nowhere as Big, well made or good as that commercial made it out to be. The commercial has done its job. Commercials main task is not to representable the item in its "Reality" form. It is to make the product look appealing. remember Advent Children commercials where sephiroth was in every clip but in reality hes only in the last 15mins of Movie. You gotta understanding marketing to understand KB's usage in games where he maybe shouldn't be. its not about how YOU want it portrayed

Yeah, a small Big Mac is BAD, of course you're not going to advertise that. However, the deep, gritty & somewhat dark atmosphere found in games like Killzone/God of War is GOOD. The atmosphere helps define the games. KB advertisements did a bad job of promoting that atmosphere. If Sony made a TV ad showing the immersive, deep atmosphere one would experience in these games, as opposed to their easy-going, light-hearted approach, I'm pretty sure it woulf have gotten more people interested in the game.

The main reason I made this thread was because I was thinking about how Sony was going to promote The Last Guardian. The game will likely be a serious experience that doesn't take itself lightly. It would be a shame if Sony had KB making a commercial with it while making jokes & such.

The biggest games on the PS3, COD, GTA, MGS, AC, etc. All feature deep & immersive stories (not necessarily good) and their ads were successful in promoting those experiences.
