Right ...
From what I have seen the vast majority of rational people around the world are terrified by the deficit, debt level, out of control spending, unfunded liabilities, punitive regulation and taxation levels, devaluing of the dollar, crony capitalism, and government corruption in the United States; and the only solutions being proposed by the Democrats and establishment Republicans are to maintain the status quo, and effectively polishing the brass on the Titanic.
Whether you agree with them or not, the Tea Party has proposed viable solutions to many of these problems and has (mostly) had their views misrepresented and been accused of racism by the defenders of the status quo. Unfortunately, the abysmal educational system in the United States has left many Americans without the literacy and numeracy skills to evaluate these claims, and has taught them to mindlessly parrot claims made by an authority figure, resulting in a large support for the Democrats because "Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house"

Viable solutions?
Pray tell, do explain.
My understanding is that they want austerity from the lower class (bottom 150,000,000 American PEOPLE!) and increased benefits to the top 400 wealthiest Americans!
Death tax? I say: Tax them to death! If tax cuts created jobs then we would have record low employment right now.

Can you give exact citations that they want austerity from the lower class (who does not pay any taxes currently), and more benefits for the top 400 wealthiest?
Additionally, tax cuts have historically created jobs. One could look at the major cuts in the 1980's which had huge effects on the economy.
Furthermore, 'taxing them to death' means they move away and take their money with them. What happens when the most productive leave the country and take their businesses elsewhere? Its been happening for years in our manufacturing due to corporate taxes in other nations.
