I find this in poor taste...

That was not my intention. With films coming out and music and other media's commemorating September 11th. I thought it would be cool if the games industry created a video game to remember Sept 11th. I thought about ideas for such a thread, the typical FPS taking place on board the planes but that wouldn't be factual. I tried thinking of other ways a game could be made about September 11th. Then today I was watching a documentary on TV about the brave men and women at Flight control who landed 5,000 planes in two hours. It then hit me, Flight Control could have a 9/11 edition. It wouldn't be seen as insensitive and it could be based on the real events.

You could have the game put you in the shoes of the flight control center's, trying to land the planes under extreme pressure. Having to make all the decisions that the US and Canadian Government's had to make. Using actual audio messages from the cockpits to put you directly in the same experience as those hero's were on 9/11.

The perfect game to commemorate 9/11, can you think of any better game idea that could pay homage to 9/11? I mean there's films and songs why can't the games industry pay homage to 9/11 without being in poor taste?

I don't think there can be a game about September 11th.  A game that takes place inside of the buildings and shows the hoplessness of trying to escape (some people actually chose leaping to certain doom)?  A game in which you were a passenger on one of the condemned flights, attempting to subdue terrorists before they reached their third intended target?  I can't think of a single goal oriented task that is game worthy that came out of that day.  There wasn't much success on our side where Septemeber 11th, 2001 was concerned.  Even a Flight Control game probably wouldn't work all that well.  I have a hard time landing 150 planes!
