I'm sure you're familiar with the scientific method. The steps involve a high level of cognitive skills that requires a lot of wording. Hypothesis, testings, results ... all things that you would need to formulate in words to share the results. All that visual theories, abstract thoughts need to be proven and broken down into words eventually.

While I respect those who are high visual learners, I believe it's in everyone's interest to formulate and improve  the way they think. It's the same reason graphs and figures are provided in various levels of school for people who are not that strong in that area of thinking.

You are a very clever poster, and I enjoy your ideas and opinions very much. I can only imagine how smart(er) you would be if you can hone your thinking abilities by ... well thinking out of the box. Just like I strive to improve on visual learning.

I don't need to formulate words for that, I would just search for the answer in my mind. You're implying deaf-mute people (who were born that way) can't formulate, and we both know that's not true. Reasoning can be done otherwise.

Actually, a spoken language is a way to convey ideas, but it doesn't expand the number of possibilities, it actually limits them because they are confined in a spoken language. That's why some concepts are hard to describe and why a perfect translation between languages is impossible, something's gonna get lost. There's always that something that just can't be described because spoken/written language is limiting our brain.

Don't know, for me a concept is as good as 1,000 words, I just can't describe it any other way :-/

Again you are missing my main points of arguments as people who speak languages. I even said myself and gave of a person stranded on an island.

I'm sorry you have to keep resorting to extreme cases to try to convince me that you - a person who claims they speak 3 languages- doesn't use words in their thinking.

And again I would boldly say, you are lying. I don't believe that one bit. You are neither stranded on an island, nor mute deaf and blind. However I do believe that you are predominately a visual thinker.

Sure. Me and others here are lying. I like lying about things just because, no purpose whatsoever. I came here and I just made up something that apparently is very difficult for you to even grasp.

 

I'm hardly the only one, I even gave you example of other people, including my gf BTW, is she lying? Am I lying about her? We all lying? I don't know why you don't want to admit this is possible, others had no problem with this, geez. Perhaps your words can't grasp the concept?

It's annoying that you pretend to know me and that you say I'm lying when you have no idea of what's in my mind. If you don't believe what I (and others) say then there's no point in discussing this.

This is the internet where everyone can claim to be able to do anything. I don't know you personally. I don't know your girlfriend. Let's be honest though, she's not a credible source of information. Heck, my girlfriend calls me "your majesty" in bed but that doesn't make me a king. As for the reasons why someone would make this up, I can name a few (attention, proclaim uniqueness), but let me just make one thing clear, again, I'm not saying abstract thinkers don't exist, I  think it's humanly impossible for any human being who speaks a language to not form words in their head randomly while thinking.. Even if it's just a single word or a phrase, it will pop up in your head. All those links you provided of visual thinkers, I believe them. But can you claim on their behalf that they never ever formulate words in their heads as they think every now and then? You're simply just being silly now.

This whole argument boils down to you claiming that your brain has zero words processed (except when reading) while thinking, which I find ridiculous and false for anyone who speaks at least one language. If you could at least admit to that being an exaggeration, I promise I'll let this go. But if you insist on that, I have no choice but to think of you as a ~somewhat~ liar.

And don't give me a Helen Keller example because that scenario doesn't apply to you.
