Zelda still sold pretty well. TP combined sales handily beat both Majora and Wind Waker. And traditional games like Mario and Pokemon are selling better on DS than they have since 1996-98. So its not like the appeal of traditional games went down, its just that there are other game concepts out there either with higher appeal, or which hit underserved markets where they is a vacuum of good titles.
