I doubt MS doesn't have a full time attorney even a bunch of them for that kind of issues.... I mean they are sued 24/7 all year round.... and Sony too so in that case, I think Sony lost more money than MS on that one....
and about the sad story I agree with you 25 to life would have been ridiculous it won't help anybody (like you said your family or him) and bottom line we are the one paying for their stay in jail.... I mean you are not gonna put a guy that drunk drives and fucks up big time with the same sentence than a serial rapist or an international drug lord it doesn't make any sens doesn't serve the purpose and cost money....
I mean realistically 80% of the people that drink here could be in the drivers seat.... we probably all have driven at least once when we shouldn't have and luckily we didn't mess up..... but think about it 2 second.... society and the guy would be better off if he goes to AA meetings and to have to do social work with car accident victims than be in jail with real thugs.... jail time is not for the victim to have a legal vengeance on the defendant on par with their pain.... it's a natural reaction but not the purpose of the legal system otherwise we'd have more people in jail than out....
morality if you are not in shape take a cab it is couple bucks that can change the rest of your life and not influence others.....
