VRAM needs speed to work well... more RAM is needed too but for VRAM speed is more precious.

Your 4Gb RAM is just for general purpose... not for Video RAM (VRAM).

What video card you have?

The DDR3 RAM in the HD consoles isn't their VRAM either. That speed is more like DDR5.

Both consoles uses GDDR3 (PS3 uses XDR too)... there are no similarity between DDR3 and GDDR3... the GDDR3 is for Graphics or VRAM.

You are just confounding GDDR memory with DDR memory... they are different technologies (GDDR4 is more like DDR3).

Thank you for the translation, I actually had to Google "semelhanca" for a minute there.

I know that GDDR3 is dissimilar from DDR3. That's why I said that the speed is more equivalent to DDR5. But I am almost positive that the OP is talking about the general system RAM, not the VRAM, though I admit I don't know what kind of system RAM the HD twins have.

All right, I just lookedi t up; he's not referring to DDR3, he's referring to the PS3's XDR DRAM, like you said; but the original point of the OP is about the system RAM, rather than the VRAM, so bringing up VRAM in th conversation is erroneous.

Edit: So the 360 doesn't have discrete system RAM; makes me wonder what the OP means in this case.

I mentioned the 360 as well as the PS3to see if it would help both systems  one or none, so what i was getting at was and it seems it would apply more so to the  PS3 seeing it's memory isn't shared is a ps3 with 1-2 gig of ddr2 system ram coupled with its gpu with its 256 meg vram as opposed to 256/256 just as my comp is running 4gig ddr2 ram and the gpu is  2   galaxy  gtx 465 in sli 1024 mb each GDDR5 memory

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot
