well I don't see how getting more exposure is a bad thing ???? now the games you are talking about are all in the top rated game list so they do get better exposure than the other..... then you have dozen of website rating and ranking indie games on XBL.... now I agree it is messy.... but that is true across the entire platform, it's like the other day I was thinking why can't I categorize my netflix queue into subcategories so when I look for a documentary I queued I go into documentary tab and not have to shuffle all the way in my 400 long list ???

but that's another story.... now in the indie game a lot of those gem are over rated.... I know it's low budget and few people but still come on those zombie game are just ridiculous.... even if somewhat good the conceptual idea is not worth 80 pts if I can get better for free on PC or just in my own game library of old school console.....

now explain me why would MS push some of those games for free???? it's resources invested on there part and free advertising for a profitable cause is extremely rare.... if those small studio want to get big then do your marketing job yourself.... it should be part of their budget from the get go any company that does will never grow or at least never reach its full potential.... marketing is essential a now a days you have a shit load of free tools to develop your community and build up exposure.... so yeah I agree with you but it is not MS job or anybody else than the one doing the game to promote it......
