For what it's worth too... it's not a "Sign of the times" that people find this racist.
In 1993, a video game got discontinued because characters talked like this in them. (via text of course.)
What's ironic about it is that in that case it actually made sense.
Since it was an educational game about being an escaped slave headed to the north.
Was a "hardcore" game too... I was the only one I knew who was able to beat it.
