How did this topic end up about Palestinian's and Israeli's? Its supposed to talk about Libya's future.

Honestly the rebels giving the Gaddafi forces another week to surrender Sirte is foolish in my opinion. Its giving Gaddafi's forces time to entrench their positions and prepare for the coming attack. Giving them an additional week to prepare is foolish especially since its obvious that they aren't likely to surrender.

Also I am sure that Gaddafi is using this week to carry out an escape. I'm guessing he had retreated to Sirte and the surrounding towns under his forces control. Now they are probably out of danger and on their way out of the country, while his forces prepare their final stand.

I think there would be far less blood shed if the rebels had just continued their offensive and marched on Sirte. At least then they could have fought an unprepared scared army. But giving them two weeks to strategize and prepare a defence will make the task far more difficult and bloody assuming the Gaddafi forces don't surrender.

Also anybody alittle concerned by the fact the rebels haven't moved their headquarters to Tripoli yet? Media speculation is that they are afraid their are to many Gaddafi supporters their and fear for their lives. Fact is somebody needs to be running Tripoli and the rebels are supposed to govern. So they should be there.

What are your thoughts of the immediate future of Libya?

Your comment sounds like some walkthrough, lol. Have you done it already?

Rebels couldn't just go and attack remaining cities without any preparations. Remember how long it took to prepare the assault in Tripoli. And further from the coast, it's more riskier and harder for ground units, while landing in Tripoli was relatively "easy" task to do. And even in Tripoli, some reports are saying that SAS had more than enough losses, unfortunately. No way they could just rush to those desert towns.

So, it's totally OK and even smart to wait now. Ongoing air strikes will do most of the job required to weaken and scatter the resistance. Mind you there is no time pressure anymore as taking key areas of Tripoli was enough to legitimate the rebels in eyes of the world community. Now only retardish countries like african / south american ones or Cuba do not recognize the NTC. And those outcasts are nothing to reckon with anyways, having zero political weight. Also, it's very important to wait before the next raid, as it creates positive image over NTC and NATO. It'd be too obvious hypocrisy to storm those loyalist cities before all the talks, everyone still rebembers that NATO began the whole intervention under premise to prevent blood shed when rebels were blocked in Benghazi by Libyan army.

They moved HQ to Tripoli. But not all the city is under control, so... NTC currently has to reside on french carrier, as I heard. Also, rebels obviously split up, LIFG recently declared NTC is outdated and their members should go away. I even believe that was one of reasons for NTC members to leave Benghazi but that's one petit conspiracy on my side (obviously). But if they could assasinate Abdul Fatah Younis in July why they can't do the same trick to Mostafa Abdel Jalil or anyone else in September? xD

So, the only fault I'd blame here upon NATO is that they failed to kill Qadaffi in course of Tripoli operation. But that's not bigger fault than them loosing such opportunities in previous months. It's quite a shame really that unimportant kadafi bastards were killed and the "ant queen" is not.
