I second the earlier suggestion, grab Gears 1 and 2 and a mate and go through the campaign in splitscreen, will be awesome 15-20 hour bonanza of fun (more if you go back to chalk of the insane difficulty). It will also nicely prepare you for Gears 3 which will be mind blowing! I say grab a friend because coop really is king in the franchise and I've not found any other game that's more fun to play in coop.
