HD-DVD works on regular DVD players as a regular DVD too so you're not required to buy a new player, thus allowing for a smooth transition of the market. It's no surprise Europe will suck Blu-Ray's balls, they're gay for anything Sony related, but it is nice to see movies like the Matrix comming to HD-DVD, hopefully more must have titles will grace the HD-DVD format and give it the edge it badly needs. I just pray the Star Wars movies will be HD-DVD, though I have no clue as to Twentieth Century Fox's affiliations on the matter. However with Sony's hand in so many films now-a-days it'll be a hard battle for HD-DVD. As with all of Sony's products and their affiliated projects (Sony is one of the nine companies associated in developing Blu-Ray) the only way they win is by forcing you to buy their product, not choosing it. |
