Bathroom and meal breaks are there for a reason. Unless there is a specific reason for them to be denied (and I'd expect it to be a properly good reason to do with a highly specialised job or to do with safety) they should be enforced and if they are denied they should receive compensation for it.
Essentially in this case they were denied these breaks because quality testers are a dime a dozen - it's unskilled labour and as such they were considered expendable and therefore treated like shit. Good on them for sueing, I hope they win.
